Stabilization of the vertical take-off of a rigid flying wing for an airborne wind energy system

چکیده

Abstract Airborne wind energy is an emerging technology that harvests with flight systems connected via a tether to the ground. In project “EnerGlider”, flying wing meant fly fully automated by its own control units. This contribution discusses challenges and trim this during vertical take-off landing under influence of horizontal velocity. High velocities can lead unstable untrimmed states concerning longitudinal motion wing. The paper analyzes design modifications thrust vector elevon area enhance envelope trimmed higher velocities. Besides, force as additional unit considered for strong forces. It demonstrated acting behind center gravity significantly robustness system Moreover, be stabilized control.

On the Take-off of Airborne Wind Energy Systems Based on Rigid Wings

The problem of launching a tethered aircraft to be used for airborne wind energy generation is investigated. Exploiting well-assessed physical principles, an analysis of three different take-off approaches is carried out. The approaches are then compared on the basis of quantitative and qualitative criteria introduced to assess their technical and economic viability. Finally, a deeper study of ...

An automatic stabilization system for quadrotors with applications to vertical take-off and landing

In the last decade many studies have been conducted in the technological framework of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). There is great interest in developing autonomous UAVs, in particular, unmanned vertical take-off and landing (UVTOL) aircraft, because of their ability to conduct search and rescue missions in remote dangerous areas, without endangering human operators. The highly complicated f...

Becoming airborne without legs: the kinematics of take-off in a flying snake, Chrysopelea paradisi.

Among terrestrial vertebrate gliders, take-off presents a unique problem to flying snakes (Chrysopelea). Without legs, snakes must use fundamentally different kinematics to begin their aerial trajectories. To determine the effectiveness of different modes of take-off in a gliding snake (C. paradisi), I videotaped multiple views of take-off from a horizontal branch and quantified the two- and th...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
